Alan Titchmarsh has had a long and successful career in the limelight. His most recent venture is being the host of ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, where he celebrates the British countryside, discussing rural arts, crafts, and produce. This morning at 10am, ITV will broadcast the eighth episode of the show’s second series. But how rich is Alan?

After graduating in London, he stayed on at Kew as a member of staff, before leaving in 1974 to pursue a career in gardening journalism.

One of Alan’s first TV appearances was on BBC’s Nationwide as a horticulture expert, before landing the role of covering the Chelsea Flower Show for the BBC in 1983.

He presented the show’s coverage until 2013.

In 1991, Alan began presenting BBC’s Pebble Mill until its cancellation in 1996, before then taking over as host of the highly successful Gardeners’ World.

Since then, Alan has hosted a special edition of the Antiques Roadshow, guest-hosted an episode of The Paul O’Grady Show, and presented The Great British Village Show.

From 2007 to 2014, he hosted his own afternoon chat show on ITV, called The Alan Titchmarsh Show.

In 2011, he began presenting ITV’s Love Your Garden, which changed to Love Your Weekend last year.

Additionally, Alan has been a reporter for BBC Two programme The Great British Winter, presented ITV’s The Queen’s garden, hosted Britain’s Best Back Gardens, and co-presented Channel Five’s Secrets of the National Trust.

As well as appearing on TV, Alan has presented radio shows over the years, such as a BBC Radio Two Sunday evening show called ‘Melodies for You’, and he still currently hosts a Saturday morning show on Classic FM.

Alan is also an author, having published fiction novels, gardening guides, and autobiographies.

The gardening star has been married to his wife, Alison, since 1975, and the couple have two daughters, Polly and Camilla.

Alan Titchmarsh presents ITV’s Love Your Garden this morning at 10am and will invite guests Harry Redknapp, Frank Gardner, and Sarah Hadland.
