It goes on to claim that “not a single one” of your lashes will be missed thanks to a “richly pigmented formula” helping to lengthen the look of your lashes.
The ‘HD Lengthening Mascara’ is made by Superdrug’s own makeup brand, B., which is 100% cruelty free and vegan friendly.
The mascara has sent shoppers into a frenzy online, with the majority leaving rave reviews.
One review, titled ‘I love this!’, said: “I find it hard to find good vegan cruelty free mascara but this one is the BEST I’ve found, lasts all day, lengthens a lot, not clumpy, only have to do one layer for a great result, fab brush and feels really lightweight.”
Another wrote: “This is fabulous Superdrug and I would love to try this in a waterproof version.”
A third satisfied shopper commented: “I had been using another cruelty free brand of mascara for years and tried this when my previous favourite was discontinued. It is my new favourite. It can be tricky to find a good mascara – this one ticks all the boxes. It’s cruelty free, the brush provides easy application, it doesn’t smudge, it comes off easily and the effect can be built up as desired. Brilliant.”
One five-star review said: “I have highly sensitive allergic contact dermatitis (eczema) chemical allergies to fragrance, chromium and various other things, and having searched the world globally for months on end, have been hard pressed to find any mascara that would be safe for me to use at all. Put it this way – I found only 3 worldwide, and this was the only one in the UK!! I have been using it a few weeks now and it is The. Best. Mascara. Ever…”
Despite the numerous positive reviews, not every shopper loved the mascara.
One wrote: “This mascara is sticky and clumpy and bits of it ended up floating in my eye. It was very difficult to remove and ended up all over my face. Waste of money. Wish I’d never bought it.”
Another left a mixed review: “This mascara goes on well and stays put. I’ve cried several times with my mascara left in tact. Love that it’s Vegan. However despite all this the removal process will stop me purchasing again. I’ve never encountered a mascara like it. Once you’ve eventually got it to come away it comes off in bits which then winds up being rubbed around my face. It’s like tar!”
The mascara is available now online and in stores.
