Nadal though began to tire down towards the end of the match as he dropped more shots into the net with a few wild attempts going long or wide.
Tsitsipas continued to keep his cool though, once again waiting for the right moment to pounce which came in the 11th game.
Nadal was guilty of his own demise as he handed Tsitsipas three break points on his own service game with the young tennis star needing just the one.
Serving for the match, Tsitsipas showed some slight nerves as he failed on his first two attempts and Nadal even had a chance to break.
But Tsitsipas quickly regained his compouse to save break point before serving out for the match, which saw a beaming smile grow on his face as he saw his winning shot fly past Nadal.
