Over the past two years, Meghan and Harry have let slip nicknames they use to call their beloved son Archie. Royal watchers, including The List’s Christine-Marie Liwag Dixon, have picked up four adorable monikers.

The first one was heard during Archie’s introduction to royal engagements.

The little Sussex travelled to South Africa with his parents in September 2019 and took part in their meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter Thandeka Tutu Gxashe.

Upon being introduced to the tot, the Archbishop’s daughter said: “Oh precious! Hello!

“Ready for the cameras aren’t you?”

Encouraging her son to interact with the host, Meghan let slip the nickname “bubba”.

She said: “Say hello, hello, hi. Oh bubba!”

A few weeks later, Meghan and Harry revealed another sweet moniker used for their son.

On October 31, 2019, the couple published a post on their now-defunct Instagram account Sussex Royal to mark Halloween.

There, they recalled how they had spent the day one year earlier, when Meghan was pregnant with Archie.

And they called their son “our little pumpkin”.

The post, signed off by Meghan and Harry as “THR” (Their Royal Highnesses), read: “‘Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween from our family (and our little pumpkin) to yours!’ – TRH”

A third nickname for Archie was revealed by Meghan in a video filmed by the Duke of Sussex and shared on the little Sussex’s first birthday.

In the clip, released on the Instagram account of Save the Children, Meghan reads Archie the book Duck! Rabbit! while he sits on her lap.

As she reads and prompts her son to take part in the activity, the Duchess can be heard calling Archie “Arch”.

She said: “Let’s go to the next page, look Arch!”

Finally, Prince Harry was heard calling his son “our little man” while speaking about life on lockdown.

The Duke of Sussex spoke about his son during a video call with Rugby Football League members.

Speaking about his desire to get Archie interested in the sport, Harry said: “What I need is a few mini rugby balls that I can then get Archie involved with the game, because at the moment it’s impossible to find any.

“But I’ve got a little space outside, which I’m fortunate enough to have, so I need to get him playing some Rugby League.”

He continued: “I’m just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see my son be able to be outside, because I know so many people just haven’t had that opportunity in the last five months.”

He then spoke about his desire to keep working despite the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Addressing Archie as “our little man”, Harry said: “Our little man is our number one priority, but our work after that is the second priority.

“And we’re just trying to do everything we can to do our part to make the world a better place.”

Meghan and Prince Harry, who have been heard calling one another respectively “Meg” and “H”, are gearing up to welcome a baby girl.

Archie’s future sister is due in the summertime, as revealed by Meghan during her interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.

While the couple did not provide an exact due date, some punters, royal watchers and commentators believe the baby’s arrival to be imminent.
