Harry and Meghan Markle made a set of bombshell claims about the royals during their interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired last month. And the Duke of Sussex’s talks with his brother William in the wake of the programme did not go well, according to an insider.

The source told Us Weekly: “The conversation Harry and William had after the big interview didn’t end well.

“William feels that Harry has gotten too big for his boots since moving to California – that success and Hollywood have gone to his head.

“He’s already accused [Harry] of putting fame over family after the big interview.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal duties in March 2020 for a new life in America.

The couple spoke out about Megxit in their tell-all interview with Winfrey.

They made a series of explosive claims about the Royal Family, including accusations of racism.

Harry also laid bare his rift with his older brother.

And the Royal Family made clear they did not agree with all of Meghan and Harry’s claims.

A statement issued by Buckingham Palace highlighted how “some recollections may vary”.

US presenter Gayle King claimed Harry had spoken to his father Prince Charles and brother following the interview.

But she said the talks were not productive.

Royal author Penny Junor accused the Sussexes of betraying the Royal Family in the year since Megxit.

Ms Junor said: “When Harry and Meghan left a year ago people were surprised and disappointed because they were a great pair.

“Harry was a hugely popular royal and Meghan was a great asset to the family.

“A year on, I think a lot of people are really angry and think that they have betrayed their family and lobbed a huge bomb into the heart of the institution and sort of taken a swipe at the UK as well.”
