She allowed him to be deployed in Afghanistan and appeared in a spoof video to help promote his Invictus Games for wounded military personnel.
When Harry and Meghan decided to quit the Royal Family, Her Majesty graciously consented, acknowledging the difficulties they had faced.
In a statement, she said: “I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.”
However, Harry said that both his father and brother remained prisoners within the system.
He said: “My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave.
“And I have huge compassion for that.”
